The original Devon panels were a kind of creamy
cross-hatch pattern which we quite liked in a retro kind of way. Unfortunately
finding an identical replacement has eluded us so we settled for a creamy
textured vinyl.
The panels themselves were sourced from Wickes,
they sell Finnish hardboard for about £4, one sheet fitted into
our van quite nicely.

Having stripped the
old panels of their vinyl, they were used as templates. Here are
the new pieces of hardboard with the vinyl stuck to them. They were
left for 24 hours allowing the glue to set. |

Here is one of the panels having
the edge of the vinyl folded over and clamped in place with a strip
of wood. |

I used these products. The spray
carpet adhesive to cover most of the panel and the tradional impact
adhesive to touch up the edges and for glueing the folded-over vinyl

I decided to try these Chrome
headed trim clips from Custom
& Commercial. I will most likely paint the heads with panel
coloured enamel. |
